Tip Tuesday!

Eye

Eye contact is huge when interacting with other people. This is as true in a work situation as it is in a dating one. With eye contact you can show confidence, interest, and even make statements. Some of the things you can say with eye contact include “I don’t think so”, “You wish”, “If you only knew”, “you want me”, “You know it”, “wow”, “you’re a weirdo”, etc.

A fun thing to try during a conversation is holding eye contact for a half second longer than you should. It is a great way for adding a little tension when needed. Be careful however because too little eye contact says you’re shy and afraid; too much says you’re a creepy stalker.

Try out different types of eye contact this week and see how people respond!

  1. Be careful if you do not know the other person to well: In some cultures direct eye contact is seen as aggression.

It’s not just eye contact though, it’s the whole expression on your face. We do little things, move little muscles without noticing, it’s not just about your eyes.

Of course, to notice these little signs we do have to look at each other faces. Which is good, I like eye contact, it feels nice. And as you say – it can be a great way to freak someone out.. some seem to think you can read their mind if you look them deep in the eyes :P
